Wow!! Today is a fantastic day at work!! Hahaa.. I was to attend a meeting at the ulu pandan site office regarding firming up of drawing plans and design.. it was just like a real life example of the scopes module. Basically, the parties of the meeting included the project manager, architect, M&E enginners, main contractors, sub contractors. Goodness. The meeting was so cool. It gave me the idea for the aim of this attachment..which was sorta what I planned. Haha.

The meeting started at around 2plus..ended at around 6pm I think..and everyone stayed on site till like 740pm (I guess no OT on this. But I overheard boss saying 'go claim OT!!'haha. no expectations on that) anyhowss. The interior designer came to show the design, a short presentation on the 4 service apts to be built on site..goodness. so pretty!! Basically there were 2 themes: contemporary modern and tropical. But right..the doin up for the 4 apts (interior + furnishing) = SGD270k. so ex man! 270k can almost buy a flat alr! Eric and mr wong was saying.. yeah..After she (interior designer) left, there were a lot of other details confirmation..like SUPER to the details..for example, wireless coverage.. how many data points and wireless (it's 2 different thing) so like..should we have either one, then which one? Or have both? And how many must there be? Where must they be located? Has the wiring been done? Has it conformed to CP? Authority approval? When can the installation start? What has to be done before the installation starts? A lot and a lot of things..yeah..so I just sat down there and observe the discussion.. so many so many drawings..just like the ones for measurements.. and 4 times the size of those drawings we had for measurements. Thick thick stack. The engineers were from a well known company which andy told me..goodness man..I got to see quite a few machinery at site too. It was like..everyone sat at this oval shaped round table and all sorts of language also have..english..hokkien..chinese.. cos all the seniors were all uncle mahh. Old old one. Haha.. so funny to see one whole group of uncles discussing about the drawings..haha..

After the verbal discussion, we went on to the site. To look at the drawings with the actual thing. I must say it's another eye opener. I got to see what kind of equipment is used for finishing and what actual materials are used for building..like a plywood hollow door. Yeah.. oh.. and there's such a material called 'PVC laminated' cos from material tech, PVC = plastic and laminated = wood..but it's a material itself. (maybe I din listen to lecture) Then during the meeting u hear all the materials like kapor, timber, homogeneous tiles, ceramic tiles, false ceiling, garden lights..blah blah. Oh. And there's 'cassette' I was like asking mr wong.. what's cassette?!? Haha..it's actually what is termed for the ceiling aircons..like the ones we see in our LTs..the square ones..those air con diffusers.. haha..they call it 'cassette' ok..

And very sian diao laaa. A lot of them smoke..so my hair is so smelly now.

Luckily andy asked me to go for the meeting, else I can imagine I will be in office using alvin's tablet until 530pm. And I must thank Alvin for lending me his tablet (the guy has another laptop and another mini laptop) crazy right! Ya. Else I will be like zou bo u know.haha. today when I reached office I stood infront of Alvin and said, 'Alvin! I have a question to ask u' wah. He gave a super shock look. Haha..yeah..just asked him what does the interns usually do..then talk abit..blah blah..ya.. hmms and I must thank the auntie at the office who offered me sweet potato soup. She's very very very nice! Yest she came to talk to me..then I was telling her I was very lonely.. no company cos I come alone..then she was like 'AHYAAA. NVM ONE LAA. GOT AUNTIE HERE YOU DON'T WORRY' haha..yeah..very cute lady..and she made me milo yest. Haha.. I like her! Oh. Then I also spoke to the recep lady today..her name is regina..yupyup.. oh ya. And eric was very funny. Cos he knows my Chinese name is wei qing. So sometimes he will go 'wei qing' then sometimes 'wei chen'..but he's the only one in office who calls me wei qing. Haha..andy (boss) was also quite funny today. We were at one of the hostel blocks and he asked me 'so how do you feel about the whole site? The environment?'
me: ok laa..it's too green for me already
boss: why? You don't like green? You like those hip hip kind?
me thinking, I dunno what is hip hip kind -.-!
me: haha..it's all green only!! I don't like..cos I'm a colourful person
yeah..and he's the first boss i know, who is a 'exercise freak' like what Alvin told me. Yeah..

Seriously, can u imagine a girl like me, in my hoodie, black skinny and sneakers go eat lunch with one group of guys..wearing like shirt and trousers, tie and everything, totally office attire.felt super weird laa. Ya and I was like laughing at the sight (to myself of course) :P
